"Missing You On Special Days":

"Dear (Dad or Loved One's Name), I miss you every day

Your memory often comes to mind

It's still natural for me to think about you

For my love's never faded with time

And it's hard enough to carry on

Still missing you day-by-day

But the loss becomes almost too profound

At certain moments, on special days

Moments you had the right to be with me

On my birthdays to see me smile

At graduation, when I achieved that goal

Or to walk me down the aisle     (There are two alternate verses                                                              that can also be used here:

                                                      Alt.Verse 1: To see me walk down the aisle

                                        Alt. Verse 2: To see my bride walk down the aisle)

And though I often feel you near

And know you didn't miss these special days

I still regret never being able to see

That look of pride spread across your face

I'm sad I lost the chance to hug you

To express all that you meant to me

And to honor you during special moments

For all the ways you've helped me to succeed

And I know that there'll be more milestones

More celebrations and occasions to come

When I still won't have you here with me

As life continues on

Yet I feel the need to express it

To share the longing... "
