A few lines from memorial poem

"In The Dying We Can Heal

The Spirit":

"Dying can be a passage of healing

A mercy...a span of respite

Given both time and the knowledge

To choose how we'll close out our lives

Others are taken too quickly

Without a chance for "goodbyes"

Not blessed with the choices or moments

That a journey of dying provides

For though it may be fraught with suffering

And deep sorrow we'd wish to deny

Often...it's there in the dying

That we find the fullness of life

When we give up our hopes for the body

And embrace the "now" and the future still to come

Treasuring each day and each moment

Before our eternal spirit continues on

And as we travel this journey

We understand the paradox within it

For often...it is in the dying

That we finally heal the spirit

We look with gratitude upon all we've had

We see the world with a fresh pair of eyes

And we regret not taking more moments

To enjoy all the seasons of life

Daily worries that used to fill our minds

Become so small, that we cannot help but laugh

Seeing them in all their inconsequence

As we pause for a moment, looking back

Family and friends mean nearly everything..."
